The Project

All of this started as an idea to get links in for the Hits Of The Blitz band and Gin Bar we’ve been banging on about… I know I thought, lets get some wartime recipes and blog about them…

..then Kathryn suggested Acorn Coffee (but that’s another story!) – which then developed into a wartime dinner party idea. However, part of the wartime effort included the mantra ‘Make Do and Mend’ – which was when handy Jonny got involved – Mr Hipster Upcycle himself… and the brand was born…

..and of course with wartime produce being in scarce supply… it turned into a full on foraging Christmas Gift project. The last few months have been basically stealing products from the Lords Farm fields and surrounding shrubbery and diving into old cheffing skills to attempt to make old fashioned produce and wartime inspired Christmas Gift Hamper to say thank you to you lovely people!
